The Technician Commitment launch event is taking place today, featuring presentations by Rachel Mills and the faculty technical leads, as well as extensive Q&A sessions.
The Technician Commitment is a UK university and research institution initiative to ensure the visibility, recognition and career development for technicians working in higher education. By becoming a signatory to the Technician Commitment, we are committing to supporting our technical staff who provide the backbone of activity that enables us to be a world-leading research institution.
The event is open to all our technical staff to network, offer ideas, and feedback on how to help shape the future of the commitment at the University and deliver against the four priorities:
- Recognition
- Visibility
- Sustainability
- Career Development
The launch event is accompanied by the launch of a new Technician’s Hub to provide resources, advice and support for our technical staff as well as a network for technicians to share knowledge and ideas.
