The University’s alumni and supporter magazine, Hartley News, returned last week for its second revival issue. The bumper edition features a whole range of stories from 2020, including alumni interviews and updates, coronavirus research, philanthropic impact, and how the University is contributing to the world.
After several years away, the magazine was brought back in 2019 with a special edition to commemorate the centenary of Highfield Campus. The publication has cemented its return in 2020 with more of that nostalgic content, alongside pieces highlighting the successes of the University and its community in what has been a very challenging year. This issue of Hartley News will reach around 165,000 alumni and supporters across the globe – both digitally and physically.
A third of our staff are also alumni, and that’s why in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR), we’re keen to share our alumni activity with the staff community. Many of you gave your thoughts in the survey accompanying 2019’s Hartley News – and over the past year, we’ve been reviewing and reacting to your feedback. You can read about everything we learned from the survey on pages 12 and 13 of the magazine.
In addition, you can continue to catch up with all the goings-on in the alumni and supporter community through Hartley News Online – the digital version of the magazine that’s published across the year. And if you have any stories you’d like to share in our publications – from a staff or alumni point of view – just email [email protected], and we’ll be in touch.
