We’d like to welcome back those staff and students who, from today (Monday 8 March), will be resuming in-person teaching for some of our practical courses or who require specialist equipment and facilities for their studies.
We are looking forward to gradually welcoming back more of our community over the coming months as Government guidance allows. Keeping our community safe
If you are returning to our campuses, please re-familiarise yourself with the community expectations, in particular, regular hand washing and use of hand sanitiser; the importance of wearing a face covering in all University buildings unless you are exempt; and maintaining a 2m physical distance from anyone who is not part of your household.
Over the summer and autumn we introduced a range of measures to ensure our campuses were COVID-secure, including directional signage, one way systems and rearranging many of our learning spaces. These measures are still in place and we expect all of our community to respect them.
As in the previous term, all learning spaces are ventilated and cleaned thoroughly between uses. We have further increased our communal touchpoint cleaning to accommodate the increase in numbers of people on our campuses from today.
Testing
Once back at the University students and staff are expected to have a negative test result from the saliva testing programme before they take part in on-campus or in-person teaching and research.
Staff and students are expected to test on a weekly basis if they are accessing any of the University campuses, shared facilities or halls of residence.
This is to ensure we maintain a COVID-secure University, helping to keep everyone safe from infection. You can find more information on the dedicated COVID testing webpages.
For any questions or concerned about testing please contact 0808 196 2282, Mon-Fri 8:30-17:00.
