We have reviewed our physical distancing guidance in line with Government advice and, from today (Monday 12 April), all staff and students can keep a physical distance of 1m+, rather than the previous 2m. This review has been made possible because the country is benefitting from lower virus infection rates and we are seeing the success of the vaccine programme.
1m+ means you can safely be one metre away from colleagues and others, as long as other measures such as wearing face coverings are put in place to limit the transmission of the virus. Face coverings remain a requirement in all University buildings. You do not have to wear a face covering outside providing physical distancing of 1m+ can be practised.
Your safety and wellbeing is always our top priority and we have put in place a range of measures to create a COVID-secure environment in which our students and staff can safely learn, research and work.
Thank you for playing your part in keep our community safe by using a face covering; practising physical distancing; cleaning your own area within common spaces before and after you use them; washing your hands and using sanitiser.
Remember: hands, face, space, fresh air.
