Members and eligible members of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) have today been sent this survey, produced by Universities UK (UUK), which seeks feedback on the USS.
UUK has launched a seven-week consultation with Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) employers, including our University, seeking their views on ways of creating a valuable, affordable, inclusive, and sustainable scheme for their staff for the long term.
The consultation follows the publication of the USS 2020 valuation report which said pension contributions will need to rise sharply if current benefits are to be maintained.
The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 7 May and the results will be used to inform our University’s response to the UUK consultation which ends on the Monday 24 May.
There will be a formal consultation for scheme members at a later stage, when there is a firm proposal on contributions and benefits.
