Changes to RIS leadership and management

The Director of Research and Innovation Services, Dr Lorna Colquhoun (pictured), has taken up a part time secondment to the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) for nine months as Executive Director of Strategic Planning, Evidence and Engagement. She started on Monday.

This is a 0.8FTE role, and as a result there will be some temporary changes to RIS leadership and responsibilities.

Peter Staniczenko, Head of Research Performance, will act as interim Director of RIS Operations and Planning for the period. In her 0.2FTE at the University, Lorna will continue in her leadership role on ALPACA, as a critical project for the University. ALPACA is a business change programme to transform the management of our research and enterprise applications and awards.

Lorna will also retain her seat on Professional Services Executive.

RIS has also appointed Diana Galpin as Director Enterprise and Knowledge Exchange for RIS. She will lead on Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise Strategy development and delivery, as well as taking line management of the following teams: Strategic Corporate Partnerships, Commercialisation, Technology Transfer and IP, Impact Programmes, Business Engagement, Enterprise Contracts, SETsquared, Business acceleration and ICURe.
