Disruption to water supply affecting campuses and Glen Eyre Halls

We are aware of an ongoing and evolving situation with water supply from Southern Water, following overnight storm damage to the Yewhill storage reservoir.

Many areas in and around Southampton are currently experiencing disruptions to their water supply. There has been disruption all day and this is expected to continue into the evening too.

Areas impacted include our Glen Eyre Halls of Residence and some of the buildings on the Avenue and Highfield campuses.

If you are studying, working or visiting campus and your water supply is affected within your building (for example, you cannot flush a toilet or obtain safe drinking water from the mains) then please do take the sensible decision to leave. If your supply is not impacted and you can continue to work or study then please do so, and if needed keep in touch with your supervisor or line manager.

If you are in Glen Eyre Halls of Residence, you will be contacted by the Residences Team with additional advice.

We are closely monitoring this evolving situation and will be updating you as we have more information over the next 48 hours. Please keep an eye on our Twitter, our website and the Southern Water incident page.
