Online event: Artificial Intelligence and the future of Cancer

The Engagement & Advancement Events Team are delighted to announce their next virtual event: Artificial Intelligence and the future of Cancer, taking place on Monday 17 May, 18:00 – 19:00.

This event will provide the opportunity for you to hear from speakers Professor Tim Underwood, Professor of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Head of Cancer Sciences, and Professor Gopal Ramchurn, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University.

Southampton offers a unique environment for AI research and training and has one of the largest collections of AI researchers in the world boasting over £50M of funding in this area in the last 10 years. Together, professors Underwood and Ramchurn will explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence and how to effectively translate technology into cancer care and real patient results.

The event will be hosted by Southampton alumna and the BBC’s Technology journalist Zoe Kleinman, and will include a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions.
