The Vice-President (Research and Enterprise) is seeking expressions of interest from amongst the professoriate for the role of Associate Vice-President Interdisciplinary Research. The role will be offered for an initial three year period from 1 August 2021, with time allocated to the role discussed upon appointment.
This role will be responsible for the delivery of the University of Southampton’s strategic interdisciplinary research and enterprise strategy. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring integration and alignment with the research, enterprise, education and international strategies across the University, as applied to research relevant to the sustainable development goals and overseen via the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and Official Development Assistance (ODA) steering group. The role also includes responsibility for the oversight of the University’s research culture and sponsorship of the Research Career Concordat.
Applicants should have sufficient management and leadership experience to be able to contribute effectively both in this role, and as a member of the University’s Research and Enterprise Executive Group, and have the confidence of the wider University community to lead on research and enterprise activities during this period.
