We have emailed students to confirm that marks will be released on Thursday 8 July 2021, with some exceptions noted below.
To acknowledge the impact of the pandemic on their studies, every student graduating in 2020/21 (and every other current student when they are ready to graduate) will have an individual consideration of their degree classification from the Board of Examiners. This will involve looking not just at the final average, but also at the whole marks profile to ensure that any clear discrepancies in module-by-module performance (which might be linked to the stress and disruption of the pandemic) are considered when classifying the degree.
All Boards of Examiners decisions will be overseen by our External Examiners, to ensure that the classification they receive continues to meet national expectations and retains its value.
In order to make fair consideration of results, students who have requested a number of extensions and/or special considerations may, in some cases, find that some results are published slightly later.
[The arrangements outlined above do not apply to all UG Medicine, PGT Allergy, PGT Genomic Medicine, MRes Stem Cells, Development and Regenerative Medicine and Medicine iPhD (first year taught), WSA programmes in Dalian, PGCE, all Health Sciences programmes, Engineering programmes delivered in Harbin]. Students should contact their School for further information.
Online Option Choice (Continuing Students)
The Online Option Choice system will open for continuing UG students to choose their optional modules for next year on Monday 12 July at 10:00 BST. The system will remain open until 17:00 BST on Friday 23 July.
All eligible students will receive an email with details of how to access the system during the week prior to the opening date. Students can find further information about Online Option Choice at https://southampton.likn.co/studentadmin/curriculum/ooc-faqs.page
Online Celebrations (Finalists)
Over 2,800 of this year’s finalists have signed-up for online graduation celebrations this summer. We are still committed to offering students the opportunity to return for a traditional graduation ceremony in the future. In response to student feedback, we are considering options for the postponed ceremonies for the graduates of 2021 and 2020, and will share these in the next few months.
