The Summer Festival, in partnership with SUSU begins today! From today until Friday 18 June, you can join us on campus for a range of activities and events.
What is happening?
From farm animals to water sports and everything in between – there’s something for everyone! Remember, all our events are completely free (unless stated otherwise in the event description). Here are just some of our highlights:
- Water sports: Ever wanted to try water sports? Well now is your chance! Join the Sport & Wellbeing team and try paddle boarding, windsurfing or even a RIB ride experience.
- Mucky Bucket Farm: The animals are back! Do we need to say anymore? Come and visit them on Monday 7 June outside Building 38!
- Design Your Future: With the end of the academic year fast approaching for most, it’s important to start thinking ahead and planning for your future. Join the Careers & Employability team for a range of sessions to help you get started.
- Mental health and wellbeing: We know this subject is more important than ever, and that’s why we want to give you the opportunity to delve more into the world of wellbeing. Here’s your chance to become an Active Bystander or gain your First Aid for Mental Health Awareness qualification.
- Get creative with the Library and the Arts: Join the Library team for a number of activities, including historical poster art, learning to use Open Access Journaling with biscuits and drawing your breath. You can also head over to the latest John Hansard exhibit!
- Watch a sustainability screening: Enjoy a screening of episodes of Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

What else is happening next week?
The festivals don’t end there as GradFest and the Festival of Doctoral Research are running from 9 – 10 June.
Running over two days, GradFest will help final year students and recent graduates prepare for the future with confidence, whilst the Festival of Doctoral Research will bring postgraduate researchers and supervisors together to consider the unique challenges they have dealt with this year, while celebrating their achievements in the face of the pandemic.
