A level results day on Tuesday 10 August will mark the peak of our Confirmation and Clearing activity. During this period, we will confirm well over 4,000 undergraduate students, handle over 10,000 telephone enquiries, and more than 1,500 clearing applications.
We need your help to make sure we are successful once more in 2021.
To ensure we can welcome as many clearing applicants as possible, the Clearing team is looking for colleagues from across the University to volunteer their help. You’ll need to be able to work on Tuesday 10 August and a smaller number of staff will also be required on Wednesday 11 August. A training session takes place in advance of the day, which you’ll also need to attend.
Colleagues will be assigned to the Clearing Hotline and will be handling calls from applicants seeking to secure a place at Southampton. In addition, there is a smaller Confirmation Hotline which deals with calls from applicants already holding an offer at Southampton. The team will need support here too.
Our Hotlines will be running remotely and we’ll be using the MS Teams platform to run our lines. You will be supported to set up and configure Teams correctly in advance of the day.
