Join the Public Engagement with Research unit’s training opportunities this September

The Public Engagement with Research unit’s Festival Team is organising two special training sessions for students and staff members who are interested in or thinking about putting together an online event for either Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival this November, or Southampton Science and Engineering Festival in March 2022.

Evaluating online public engagement activities with Dr Jamie Gallagher on Tuesday 7 September at 10:00

This is an interactive workshop led by communicator and engagement professional Dr Jamie Gallagher. Participants will learn more about how to evaluate their online engagement activities, how an appropriate evaluation plan can contribute to stronger engagement, and what tools they can use to interpret the evaluation data they obtain.

Video-making for public and community engagement with the Digital Learning Team on Wednesday 22 September at 10:00 

This session will be led by Chris Spice and Anthony Welch, who are multimedia developers with the Digital Learning Team. It will focus on creating powerful, effective video content for engagement events and will cover practical topics, from picking a location for filming to editing, branding, and roving kits, as well as what the Digital Learning Film School is and how participants can get involved.
