Meet our Royal Society Entrepreneurs – Monday 11 October

This is your opportunity to meet the University of Southampton’s three Royal Society Entrepreneurs in Residence. They will share their industrial experience in their relevant and related sectors as well as their role within the University.  Chris, Virginia and Duncan will highlight the opportunities around entrepreneurial engagement with industry, the benefit of having an industry perspective on research bids and how they can support staff, students and researchers. 

Who are our Royal Society Entrepreneurs? 

Chris Hobbs – Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (FEPS), is Head of Business Strategy at the Satellite Applications Catapult. He is embedded in the University to help facilitate commercialisation of great ideas from researchers, particularly those with a space theme. 

Virginia Hodge – Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (ECS), will be embedded in the ECS School’s teaching and research activities while serving as a Resident Mentor at the on-campus Future Worlds startup accelerator.  

Duncan Holmes – Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (FoM), works with scientists and clinicians, from the School of Experimental and Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine to help identify and support opportunities from basic research that could create potential solutions to benefit patients.
