English for Academic Purposes: toolkit developed for students

The EAP (English for Academic Purposes) Toolkit is a resource developed by the eLanguages team in Modern Languages and Linguistics and made available to all staff and students at the University.

The toolkit is packed with interactive activities to help you improve your study skills and academic English. It’s suitable for all students – whether or not English is your first language. Each resource has between one and four activities concentrating on a particular learning point, and you can dip in and out of different activities as often as you like.

You can access the EAP Toolkit via your ‘Courses’ list at the top of Blackboard, the ‘Full course list’ at the bottom of the Blackboard homepage, or directly by going to this link: https://blackboard.soton.ac.uk/webapps/blackboard/content/listContent.jsp?course_id=_39429_1&content_id=_2938251_1 (please note that you may need to log in to Blackboard, but after logging in you should be taken directly to the EAP Toolkit).
