Kevin Monaghan, our Executive Director of Estates and Facilities, has announced that he will be retiring from the University in April 2022, after nearly 18 years in the role.
Richard Middleton, outgoing Chief Operating Officer, commented: “We all owe Kevin a huge debt of gratitude for his tremendous leadership of our Estates and Facilities activities over such a long period, and for his unwavering commitment to the success of our University.
“Kevin has been instrumental in the creation and development of so much of the current estate, including the partnership with Lloyds Register and the development of the Boldrewood Innovation Campus, along with many other key University buildings. He is one of the few people whose legacy will quite literally be long-lasting, built from concrete and steel.
“Kevin feels that after 18 years in the role, this will be the right time for him to step down. He is also very conscious that delivery of the new University Strategy, and in particular the long-term implications for our estates and facilities, will require a long period of continuity of leadership which he feels will be best provided by a successor able to provide a longer commitment than he can.”
