The current platform that hosts our SUSSED portal will be transferred to SharePoint over the next month, making it more efficient and easier to use for staff and students.
It will integrate with our suite of Microsoft 365 apps, allowing staff and students to use one familiar system. The new platform will reduce the number of sites staff have to navigate and have better safety features.
Other benefits of the new platform include:
- an integrated University and local news stream, so staff and students can remain up to date with the latest University developments.
- an integrated search function with SharePoint.
- a calendar that will pull events from the main University calendar.
- all the features found on the current SUSSED platform – Business World (Agresso), MyHR, email, Blackboard, timetables and COVID-19 updates.
Over the next few weeks, focus group testing will be carried out with communities and networks across the University to gather feedback.
The new SUSSED platform will go live on Tuesday, 30 November. The web address www.sussed.soton.ac.uk will remain in place for a seamless transition, and you will be able to log in, in the normal way. The main features of SUSSED will remain available, and all bookmarked links will still be accessible.
A FAQ and video guidance will be available soon with more detailed information, and managers will receive a briefing sheet enabling them to inform their teams of the change.
