PGR Wellbeing session – 12 November, 10:00-11.30

We know that studying for a PhD can be tough, and this may be intensified by the impact of the pandemic. Facilitated by the Student Wellbeing Team, the PGR Wellbeing Session is a small group that encourages doctoral researchers to make meaningful connections with each other in a safe environment.

The group provides an opportunity to meet with other PhD students in a similar situation and discuss topics such as stress, work-life balance, isolation, loneliness and the impact of COVID-19. PGRs can have a positive impact on the wellbeing of their peers by offering each other support and practical solutions. To register for the session, please email [email protected].

Imposter syndrome – 17 November, 17:30-19:00

There may be times when you experience feelings of imposter syndrome as a PGR. This collaborative workshop will explore why imposter syndrome is so common amongst doctoral students and share key strategies to help overcome it.

Adaptive & maladaptive perfectionism – 25 November, 13:00-14:30

Are you a perfectionist? You may have found that perfectionism can be both useful and detrimental in your doctoral studies. This workshop will look at different forms of perfectionism and explore strategies to overcome self-criticism.

Looking after your wellbeing at conferences – 30 November, 12:00-13:30

Prioritising your wellbeing during conferences is important for PGRs. This workshop will explore common anxieties related to conferences and identify ways to combat them.

Each workshop can be booked through PGR Manager – please note that there are limited spaces available, so we encourage you to book early to secure your space.

You can also visit the PGR Support page for more information on how the Student Wellbeing Team support postgraduate students.
