New date added for the walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic

Demand for COVID-19 vaccines at the University Health Service continues to be high, so the team have added an extra walk-in date for this Wednesday 10 November, between 13:00 and 16:30. This is in addition to the usual Saturday clinics.

The Health Service are offering first and second doses of Pfizer, as well as booster doses to eligible staff and students. Please note that second doses of Pfizer will be offered if 8 weeks have passed since the first dose was administered, or 4 weeks if you are living in student halls.

In case of vaccines such as Sinopharm, Sinovac or Sputnik Light, if you have had one dose you will be offered a full course of Pfizer, and if you have had two doses you will be offered one dose of Pfizer. If you have already had two doses and a booster, no further vaccination will be offered.

The University Health Service are still looking for volunteers to ensure the vaccine roll-out continues to go smoothly. This involves showing people around, helping with consent forms and check-ins, as well as attending the waiting area post-vaccination. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and helping the NHS please contact Michael Penston from University Health Service at [email protected].
