Two dates for Research Grant Writing workshops, with Dr Andrew Derrington have just been released. These are open to ERE staff at level 5 and above, and you will need to submit an expression of interest by Wednesday 24 November.
These online workshops teach a strategic approach to research grant writing, informed by Andrew’s experience in both winning and awarding grants. A mixture of lectures and exercises provide the opportunity to explore the most important problems you might face when you write a grant application and practise the main skills that you will need to solve them.
Workshop aims:
- To understand how research grants are awarded and how this affects writing applications.
- To develop the skill of writing key sentences and understand how to use them as a framework for writing your case for support.
- To develop a strategy for writing a grant-application as quickly and efficiently as possible.
There is also an option of a self-paced online version that provides 28 days access to the recorded lectures and learning resources used to complete the workshop, so you can work through them in your own time, with a flexible start date.
Choice of workshop dates:
Workshop 1
Intro session: Wednesday 19 January, 10:00 – 12:00
Debrief: Wednesday 2 February, 14:00 – 15:00
