Engage with Year 10 students in their mother tongue

To celebrate World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on 21 of May 2022, we will be organising an on-campus science education and outreach event with Native Scientist, specially designed for Year 10 students from local schools with an ethnic minority or migrant background. Based on information provided by local schools, we will be focusing on two of these three languages: Pashto/Pakhto, Polish, and/or Romanian.

The event aims to connect researchers with students to talk about science in the students’ heritage language. It will invite students who speak one of the above languages in their household to visit our campuses and interact with researchers, academics and current undergraduate who share their mother tongue.

If you have the language skills stated above, have delivered/would like to deliver outreach and are interested in participating, please register your interest by the 6 of December. For each language, we are looking for four academics/researchers to develop and deliver the activities for the Year 10 students on the day.
