As 2021 draws to a close and we begin to look towards the new year, everyone involved in delivering the Strategic Major Projects in Education would like to thank you for your engagement over the last year, to remind you of some of the outputs already delivered and which we hope have been of interest, and to flag up further resources planned for next year.
Several resources which may be of use now include:
- Online Academic Support Map helping staff and students find support services
- Transition Resources for programme leaders improving the student transition process
- Common Framework for Online Education supporting the delivery of quality education
- PAT Essential Guide 21/22 offering resources for all Personal Academic Tutors
In the coming months, the Enhancing Academic Support & Delivery Project. (now combined with the Transitions Project) will deliver a revised Common Framework for Education, providing guidance and resources for teaching and learning, both online and in-person, along with toolkits to support academic transitions and inclusive education.
The Reducing Curriculum Complexity Project will continue to consult with faculties on how best to work together to deliver and embed the remaining elements of the Curriculum Complexity Strategy.
The Sustainability Goal 4 Project has published an interactive e-learning module, ‘Southampton Sustainability Solutions’ for staff and students, and completed an initial mapping of the UN Sustainability Development Goals to all UoS taught programmes, which is currently being verified with faculties.
In the new year, all these projects will align to the new University Strategy.
Professor Alex Neill, Vice President Education, speaks for all of us in expressing his gratitude for “the continuing partnership between students and colleagues across the University who are contributing to these strategic projects to ensure that they deliver real educational benefit”
