This year, the Chinese (Lunar) New Year falls today (Tuesday 1 February) and marks the beginning of the Year of the Tiger – a symbol of bravery, power and pride.
The occasion is celebrated across the world, bringing people of all ages and different cultures together. The festival signals the beginning of spring, and the start of a new year, with cultural and historic significance.
What’s on
You may have kicked off the celebrations already over the weekend with firework displays, dancing and music. But don’t worry if you haven’t started yet as there’s plenty still going on this month. Just a few highlights include:
