From today (Thursday 3 February), most students will receive an email invite to fill out one of the three student experience surveys now open for 2022: National Student Survey (NSS), Southampton Student Survey (SSS) and Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).
By taking just a few minutes to fill out a survey, you are enabling the University to make a real change. The results are factored into the University’s planning process, and your participation can be a legacy that helps us directly improve the experience of current and future students.
The surveys include questions on different areas including teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning community, learning opportunities, and much more.
What survey can you complete?
NSS
If you’re a final year student, the NSS is a unique opportunity to give your opinion on your University of Southampton experience. With at least three years of studying with us, learning about your journey will give us valuable and informed insight, allowing the University to make informed, student-led change.
All eligible final year students will receive an individual link by email from Ipsos MORI, who conduct the survey independently, or you can fill it out by visiting the NSS website here.
We recommend completing the survey as early as possible to avoid further emails and follow up phone call reminders from Ipsos MORI.
SSS
All undergraduates, not eligible for the NSS, will be emailed a direct link from the Policy and Insight team to take part in the SSS survey from today. SSS, just like NSS, helps us to understand factors impacting the student experience before your final year of study.
You will be sent a link to complete the survey, or can fill it out by visiting the SSS website.
PTES
If you’re a postgraduate taught student, you will be emailed a direct link to the online survey from the Student Communications Team. This is an opportunity to tell us about your postgraduate taught experience, what works well and what could be better.
You will be sent a link to complete the survey, or can fill it out by visiting the PTES website.
