On Monday 7 February, the Office of Development and Alumni Relations will begin its annual Calling Campaign, which will run for six weeks until mid-March 2022.
During the Campaign, a team of student callers will call more than 10,000 of our alumni and supporters, who have consented to be called, to raise thousands of pounds for priority causes at the University – from supporting the fight against cancer through the Cancer Immunology Fund, to helping our most disadvantaged students to succeed via the Ignite Programme.
The Campaign is also a unique opportunity for the University to speak personally to thousands of its alumni, updating them on news, events and volunteering opportunities and helping to continue to build a lifelong relationship with Southampton.
“The moment you walk into the Calling Room, you can see why it is the beating heart of our Fundraising programme. The buzz, the energy and the connection that our amazing students have with our alumni is palpable. This is often where alumni start their giving journey and the conversations they have with students, year on year, reveal their warmth and pride in the University.” Jo Donahoe, Director of Development and Alumni Relations.
Due to COVID restrictions, this is the first time that the Calling Campaign has taken place since spring 2020. This year’s Campaign has been designed and planned around existing COVID guidance, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the calling team.
