The Engagement & Advancement Events Team are delighted to be hosting their first event to recognise International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8 March.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme #BreakTheBias asks us to imagine a gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. Southampton’s Inspiring Women panel event will incorporate this theme by featuring three influential and high-profile women from Southampton’s academic and alumni community. Lorna Tilbian, Mfon Ekpo and Dr Nisreen Alwan MBE will talk about their time at Southampton and what it’s led to.
The event will delve into our speaker’s hugely successful careers, understand how they’ve overcome barriers along the way and hear how they now support women at the start of their careers. They will also share their own top tips for success.
Hosted by Wendy Appleby, Vice President (Operations), this event will include a Q&A where you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.
