This April the ABP Southampton marathon and half marathon will be running through the heart of our Highfield Campus.
This exciting partnership with the ABP Southampton Marathon is part of our 70th anniversary celebrations. 2022 is a special year for our University, marking 70 years since we received our Royal Charter from HM Queen Elizabeth II, during the first year of her reign.
We hope that everyone in our community will get involved – whether you’d like to run yourself or cheer on and support friends, family and colleagues on Sunday 24 April 2022.

Funded marathon and half-marathon places available
We are delighted to fund the entry fee for a limited number of staff, students and alumni who would like to run the full or half marathon for the University.
We really want all participants to have fun and enjoy the day and as a University runner, you will receive a branded T-shirt to wear, raising our profile as you run through the city and our campus.
Some runners may also like to fundraise for two fantastic University charities – the Ignite Programme and our Centre for Cancer Immunology, both great causes that would really appreciate the support. However, there is no obligation to do this.
