**Message from Wendy Appleby, Vice-President (Operations)**
Dear colleagues and students,
I’m pleased to say that the worst of Storm Eunice now seems to have passed with only limited localised damage on campus to trees and some temporary structures. The Met Office has removed its Red warning, but there are still high winds this afternoon and although we are now re-opening our campuses this is only for essential travel, work and visits to campus for the rest of today.
Local transport networks have been affected during the storm and while Unilink will re-start its services from 16.30 today, the rail networks around Southampton are not operating normally.
The weather outlook for tomorrow (Saturday) is considerably better albeit with strong winds, but we are confident that we have a safe environment to welcome guests to our Visit Day, which will go ahead as expected.
I would like to thank all staff and students for their patience and flexibility in dealing with this unusual weather and hope that you have a lovely weekend.
With good wishes,
Wendy
