Expect Respect: Report and Support tool one year on

It’s been a year since we launched the specialist Report+Support tool, but our position remains the same: we stand against all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying.

We want the University campuses and our local community to be an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive. As part of this, we launched our Report+Support tool last year to help provide a secure environment for those affected by harassment and bullying to speak out about unacceptable behaviour and to get support. You can also use the tool to help support someone you know.

Since the launch, we’ve had just under 200 reports from both students and staff, both anonymous and named. We encourage anyone who has ever experienced any form of harassment or bullying to speak out, and for our community to continue to use the tool.

Emma Rowsell, Associate Director of Student and Education Services, said:

“Any form of harassment and bullying in the learning or working environment is never acceptable. We will do all we can to stop this and to support those who may have gone through it. We ask that you continue to stand with us against all forms of harassment.

“We encourage anyone who has ever experienced any form of harassment or bullying to speak out by using our Report+Support tool, regardless of when the incident took place.”

Visit the website to access a wealth of information so you can find out what behaviours are unacceptable, where to go for support, our policies, and how you can support someone you know.
