Further updates are being revealed about our partnership with this year’s ABP Southampton Marathon, as runners get training for the big day on Sunday 24 April.
Last month we announced that the route would be taking participants through the heart of our Highfield Campus, as part of our 70th anniversary celebrations.
We also offered up funded places for staff, students and alumni who wanted to run the full or half marathon. The opportunity proved popular, with large numbers applying for a spot. Thank you to all who got in touch; successful applicants have now been notified.
There will be 70 members of the University community running to commemorate our 70th year.
Now, plans are being shared about other ways to get involved and enjoy the day!
Our new web page is being updated regularly; currently, you can find details there about becoming a volunteer marshal, as well as what to expect on campus.
There will be plenty to do and see while you cheer on friends, family, and colleagues after they tackle one of several hills on the route.
Watch out for more details about our campus celebrations here on SUSSED and on our marathon web page over the coming weeks.
Good luck to the members of our community who are now training for the event. We will be supporting you all the way.
