Students graduating in 2022 are now able to register for their graduation celebration – you will have received your email invitation to register on Wednesday 30 March. This year’s graduation will take place between Wednesday 20 July and Friday 22 July at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, and will celebrate the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
If you are graduating this year, there are a few things you need to do on the Graduation website in order to book your place and ensure the day goes as smoothly as possible:
- Read through the event information on the website – you can find out more details about schedule, gowns, photography, venue, travel, and accessibility. Please also refer to the FAQs on the website.
- Complete your registration.
- Hire your gown.
Each graduand will be able to bring up to two guests on the day, and you will receive your tickets closer to the celebration in July.
Please check your emails and junk items carefully. If you believe you should be invited and you don’t receive an email in the next few days, please contact [email protected] with your name, student ID number and your programme of study.
If you are eligible for two awards during this summer’s Graduation (for example, you finished your undergraduate degree in 2020, and your postgraduate degree in 2021), you should have received an email detailing your celebration and gown arrangements. If you have not received this email and believe you should have, get in touch with the team at [email protected].
‘This year’s graduation will be a truly special occasion to crown the achievements of our students who have completed their degrees during one of the most challenging times in recent memory’ said our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mark E. Smith. ‘St Mary’s Stadium is a place of great significance that unites our community, making it the perfect venue for us to all get together after two years and celebrate graduation.’
Looking ahead to her own graduation, Antonia Sauvain, a Law graduate from the class of 2020, said: ‘Graduation will provide a great opportunity to finally mark the end to the amazing chapter of my undergraduate studies, but also recognise the resilience that myself and my peers have demonstrated since formally finishing University – entering a very challenging job market in the middle of a pandemic. Being able to celebrate these achievements with my friends, family, and fellow graduates at St Mary’s Stadium will be a really unique experience.’
Registration closes on Wednesday 13 April. For further information on Graduation, please view our dedicated website, and contact our Graduation Team at [email protected] with any further queries.
