From tomorrow (Wednesday 6 April), if you’re a Windows or Mac user, you may receive a prompt asking you to authenticate with multi-factor authentication when connecting to the Global Protect Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Why are we doing this?
This will help protect your account against phishing attacks, prevent your login or password details from being stolen and reduce the risk of your data being accessed by an unauthorised person.
What does the prompt look like?
It’s the same prompt you see when connecting to Office 365.
What do I need to do?
Once you’ve received the prompt, follow the instructions to authenticate as usual.
For now, Linux users won’t see this prompt but please keep an eye out for further updates in due course.
Second method of authentication
We strongly recommend that you set-up a second method of authentication. This means that if one method fails, you have another way to authenticate so you won’t be locked out of your account. Information on how to set up a second method of authentication is given here.
Where can I go for help?
If you need any support on the above, please contact ServiceLine.
