Would you benefit from seed funding?
The International Partnerships Team is pleased to announce the launch of a new round of the Global Partnership Awards.
Professor Jane Falkingham, Vice President International, commented:
“The Global Partnership Award Scheme is a fantastic opportunity open to all University employees to strengthen research and education collaborations with our worldwide partners. Anyone interested in applying is warmly invited to attend one of the briefing events. Applications are welcome from colleagues across all workstreams and proposals involving more than one discipline and/or partner are actively encouraged. I look forward to reading your exciting proposals!”
The award supports joint international research or education-related activities with an international dimension that are at an early stage of development. Funding up to £5,000 is available for early career researchers – PGRs, postdocs and junior faculty members – to visit an international partner to establish and cultivate research links at an institutional and individual level. Academic staff can also apply for funding up to £15,000 for larger-scale collaborative activities, to lead workshops to develop research, teaching or capacity-building projects.
Priority is given to proposals that are interdisciplinary and nurture multilateral partnerships committed to excellence. Partnerships with the potential to benefit the wider university community and forge cross-School or Faculty links are particularly encouraged. All funding applications are expected to include planning to establish longer term funding sources to ensure the future sustainability of the relationship. The intention is to seed collaboration with the University of Southampton’s priority and key partners.
The deadline to receive applications for projects seeking funding for the period between August 2022 and July 2023 is 12 midnight on Wednesday 15 June 2022.
