Good quality items can also be easily sold or donated online – for example, by using sites like Facebook Marketplace and Olio.
Unwanted kitchen items
Donate clean kitchen items such crockery, cutlery, saucepans and frying pans to future students by visiting a dedicated collection stand next to Wessex Lane Halls Reception:

Recycling banks
Glass, shoes and textiles can be taken to recycling banks around the city, and unwanted items that cannot be recycled can go to the Southampton Recycling Centre.

Food banks
Long-lasting, dry or tinned food that is in-date can be donated to local food banks if you do not want to take it to your next accommodation. Make sure they accept the items you want to donate ahead of your visit. Just some local food bank venues are listed below:

Additional collections
On Saturday 25 June and Saturday 2 July the University has arranged additional bin collections in the local Southampton area. Simply leave your bins and recycling out the night before for collection.
