The University’s Pulse Staff Engagement Survey, run and hosted by our external provider, People Insight, closed at the end of April and the results have now been made available.
Overall, we achieved a 63% response rate which was higher than our target (60%) and the overall Staff Engagement score was 74% (our target was 70%).
The results have been clustered into seven themes; Autonomy, Enablement, Engagement, Environmental Sustainability, Inclusion, Leadership and Reward:

The results are broadly positive, but there are areas that do need some attention and action. The second Pulse survey, which will be run in November will help us identify if we have improved in these areas.
When will I find out the results?
All Deans and Executive Directors have now been given direct access to their results via the People Insight interactive dashboard and will be sharing results with teams in the coming days and weeks.
What happens next?
Action planning workshops are being delivered by People Insight in early June to support senior leaders in the process of action planning and how to prioritise efforts in the areas where most action is needed. HR Business Partners are already working with leaders to develop plans in light of the results and will continue to support them following the workshops.
