We are delighted to be hosting a Palooza (celebration) of all things related to sustainability and transformation, alongside our partners, University of Southampton, Solent University and University of Winchester.
This is an opportunity to tell your stories, share your experiences and expertise in delivering service improvements in education, research or University administration settings with colleagues across the Wessex Higher Education sector
The event is free and will consist of a number of online sessions via Teams from 6 – 9 June 2022, culminating in an in-person event on Friday 10 June at Solent University.
Monday 6 – Thursday 9 June (online sessions via MS Teams)
A number of guest speakers will be leading a variety of webinars such as:
- a keynote from Bill Balzer, professor of industrial-organisational psychology and Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at Bowling Green State University, and author of ‘Lean Higher Education.’
- putting strategic plans into action across an organisation via Hoshin Kanri
- sessions from Universities who will share the continuous improvement journey they’ve taken
- how Lean approaches can support us in meeting our sustainability goals
- how we can engage and support colleagues in taking their improvement initiatives forward
- how to get started on using Lean in your team
- running successful Rapid Improvement Events
- reviews of common Lean tools and techniques
We’d also love to meet you and explore the power of games to experience the potential of Lean techniques at our ‘Lean Olympics!’
Friday 10 June (in-person at Solent University)
This in-person event will be taking place at the Spark Building at Solent university, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience:
- Lego Serious Play as a means of promoting creative thinking and problem solving
- Generating climate solutions as part of Project Drawdown
- Supporting the development of learning organisations through Kata
- Identifying and eliminating waste via 5S
