Foundership Scheme: Develop your own business this summer

The Foundership Scheme is an opportunity to help our students and recent graduates to develop a business this summer. Starting in July, the scheme provides a full support programme, dedicated co-working space, as well as funding over a 12-week period.

Who can apply?
If you have researched your market and competitors, and have validated a business idea by speaking to potential customers, you may be eligible for the scheme. Watch our video on YouTube to get an insight into what the 2021 Foundership cohort got up to last year.

Funding, space and support
To allow you to work on your business full time over the summer, successful applicants will receive up to £2500 of grant funding. You will have access to a dedicated co-working space in the heart of Southampton City Centre at the Barclays Network Eagle Labs, and also receive 12 weeks of regular support including:

  • Weekly 1-to-1 mentoring sessions from the Student Enterprise Team
  • Six ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions with six different guest speakers over the first half of the programme covering everything from how to reduce your financial risk to how you generate sales and driving traffic to your website; and
  • Six ‘Ask the Founder’ sessions with six different founders over the second half of the programme offering valuable mentoring and advice from a position of real experience.
