CHEP Enhancement Funds 2022 Winners

The Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) is delighted to announce the winners of the Enhancement Funds that will work towards a scholarly education or action research project that will enhance existing assessment practices or to investigate new forms of assessment or feedback.

Congratulations go to:

  • Brian Moss (Social Sciences, Social Policy and Criminology) – Eliminating the binary: Connecting social science student assessment with employers’ and professions’ digital research needs.
  • Jana Sadeh (Social Sciences, Economics, Social and Political Sciences) – Student intertemporal & risk preferences and the impact of information interventions on student outcomes.
  • Jennifer Anyan (Arts & Humanities, Winchester School of Art) – Redesigning the formative feedback process on the Final Project (Fashion Marketing with Management) using Action Learning Sets to support students in becoming active seekers and givers of peer feedback.
  • Josh Robertson (Engineering & Physical Sciences, School of Engineering) – Investigating the application of digital badges through a blended learning environment for engineers in a laboratory.
  • Leonora Onaran (Social Sciences, Law)A research study on enhancement of the assessment and feedback process in legal studies.
  • Malcolm Cook (Arts & Humanities, School of Humanities) – What do students need, at both practical and intellectual levels, to make video essays an effective form of assessment.
  • Matthew Middleton (Engineering & Physical Sciences, School of Physics and Astronomy) – Gradescope viability study.
  • Miranda Dodd (Social Sciences, Southampton Education School) – Evaluating models for assessment across modules (programme level assessment).
  • Mohamed Bakoush (Social Sciences, Business School) – Towards authentic assessment in the experiential learning environment.
  • Neil Ford (Social Sciences, Business School) – Assessment and Feedback Champions: Student partnership in enhancing assessment and feedback practices.
