The newly-appointed Editor of the Southern Daily Echo newspaper, Ben Fishwick, will be joining us for a dedicated one hour ‘show and tell’ session on Tuesday 19 July 2022.
This online session, open to all staff but aimed primarily at academics, will provide an introduction to Southampton’s long-standing local newspaper and website. The Daily Echo has been the city’s local paper since 1888 and today has a circulation of over 100,000 (both print and online).
Hear from Ben direct about his strategy for the local paper, what makes a headline and a good news story.
As Ben is still very new in his new in role in Southampton, this is also an opportunity to make him aware of our world-leading research and enterprise, and a unique opportunity to build on the University’s relations with the city of Southampton and the wider southern region.
