A part of the University’s estate masterplan is a focus on the opportunities that can be created in the North-East Quadrant area of Highfield, at the corner of Burgess and Broadlands Roads.
This area encompasses the former location of B45, which has been demolished as part of the preparations of this site for future development. That vacant site has now been temporarily converted to additional parking spaces, accessible through the Broadlands car park. To the south of the existing car park, 120 new permanent parking spaces are about to be created which will be known as South Broadlands car park.
Work will commence on 11 July, and to keep pedestrians and private vehicles safe we will be temporarily suspending a number of parking spaces to the left of the main entrance (as you enter) for two weeks.
There will also be a number of parking spaces adjacent to the construction site that will be cordoned off for site access for the seven-month duration of the project.
Although we have created more spaces in Broadlands to help mitigate these works, permit holders are also able to use the Hampton car park on the other side of Broadlands Road.
Please see a location map below and the affected area.
