Pay negotiations held between the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) and the five sector trade unions have concluded.

With effect 1 August 2022 the University will implement increases to base salary in line with UCEA’s final offer. This provides for increases in base salary of 3.0 per cent for staff on or above spine point 20, and increases of up to 5.0 per cent for those on  spine points 12-19. For staff on spine points 6-11, the University has already applied pay increases of up to 5.6 per cent in April 2022, which ensured a minimum hourly rate of at least £10.25 per hour; further increases of at least 1.7 per cent will now apply to these spine points in August, ensuring a new minimum hourly rate of at least £10.43 per hour.

The majority of our Level 1-6 staff are entitled to incremental pay progression in August, in addition to the outcomes of this year’s pay negotiations.

These changes will be reflected in salaries at the end of August. Pay day in August is Wednesday 31 August 2022.

Full details of the 2022-23 pay negotiations can be found here and updated University pay scales will be published 1 August on this page.
