Although always busy at this time of year, the recruitment team is experiencing extremely high levels of recruitment requests as the University increases it’s capacity to deliver against the strategy to increase student numbers and deliver strategic projects as well as our world class research.
Whilst a plan is in place to manage this increase in volumes of recruitment and the team is working exceptionally hard to ensure roles are advertised as quickly as possible, this has temporarily impacted our timescales.
Recruitment processing times for contractual recruitment are as follows:
- Accurately completed OSRFs for advertising – 10 working days from receipt in the Recruitment team.
- Response time for queries – 6 working days.
- Shortlisting confirmation – 5 working days from receipt in the Recruitment team.
- Interview invites – 5 working days from receipt in the Recruitment team.
- Offers to be sent
- 8 working days from submission of offer details where there is no visa required.
- 12 working days from submission of offer details for candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK.
Please be aware that international candidates requiring sponsorship take longer, please allow at least five weeks from offer submission to the start date. Researchers requiring an ATAS certificate have delays of approximately 30 days in processing applications (see ATAS SUSSED announcement).
Once all the information is collected for a new starter the HR record will be set up and systems access given the week before work is due to commence.
