Shape our Strategic Plans: Civic

Following the launch of our University Strategy in January, a suite of strategic plans, which will underpin and ensure successful delivery of the strategy, have been in development. There have already been a range of opportunities to shape some of these plans and you can find recordings of open meetings and colleagues’ comments on the Strategy SharePoint site.

The draft Civic Strategic Plan

The Civic Strategic Plan is based on the following principles:

  • We will work with our civic partners and businesses to achieve socio-economic benefit.
  • We are deeply committed to making a positive social impact, increasing social mobility, transforming lives and enhancing prosperity, both on the south coast of England and across the globe.
  • We are focused on collaborations to strengthen economies and sustainable communities across the region (and beyond).
  • The University will become a truly integrated part of its local communities. By partnering with the people in our neighbouring area and their representatives, we will work together to drive the social, environmental and economic benefits that are most vital. This will build sustainable communities, promote equality, diversity and inclusion, improve health and wellbeing, transform educational opportunities, close the digital divide and extend enterprise.

In the autumn, there will be opportunities to attend open meetings to discuss this plan. To express your interest in attending, please email [email protected] and we will provide more details closer to the time.
