Interdisciplinary Research Places and Inequalities Sandpit EOI’s now open

A sandpit is an interactive facilitated workshop designed to lead to the formation of new research teams and highly novel and risk-accepting projects to tackle big research challenges. As part of a new series of events hosted by Rebecca Hoyle, Associate Vice-President (Interdisciplinary Research), the Places and Inequalities Sandpit will explore the interconnection between places and inequalities from deprivation in coastal towns to national and global health inequalities, or the factors that influence migration decisions.

This event will bring together collaborators from across the University to share research interests and ideas, leading towards potential new research projects and grant applications. At the end of the event participants will be invited to bid for funding from a pot of £30K to support innovative pilot projects emerging from the event.

If you would like to take part in the sandpit, please complete the expression of interest (EOI) form by Wednesday 7 September. We will confirm participation by Wednesday 14 September with the sandpit  taking place on 28 September.

Accepted EOI’s must be able to attend the entire event on Wednesday 28 September, please see the EOI form for further information.
