An exceptionally successful Clearing

We’re delighted to say that this year’s undergraduate admissions process has been a huge success, with us coming out of Clearing at 15:00 on A-level results day with the exception of a few programmes in Health Sciences.

Our Vice-Chancellor, Mark E. Smith, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement, reflecting not just our growing reputation as a world class university, but also the fantastic work put in by all those involved in the admissions and clearing process.”

The University entered Clearing yesterday already in a strong position, with our courses over 95% full. The remaining places were quickly filled with well-qualified students, most of whom met our standard entry requirements, or in some cases were just one grade below.

David Winstanley, Director of Global Recruitment and Admissions, said:

“I’m delighted we were able to be in and out of clearing so swiftly to fill our final places. Meeting our overall student number plan with students who have achieved such fantastic results is the culmination of years of work across our professional services and academic schools.

The hotline is now closed, although the webforms remain open for those applying for Health Sciences.
