The Southampton Language Opportunity programme provides you with the chance to study a language free of charge alongside your university degree. The taster day for this programme will take place on Saturday 1 October from 10:30-15:00 at Avenue Campus and is a free event where you can try one or two language courses and find out more about the courses on offer.
The programme is organised by the Lifelong Learning Team and managed by the Modern Languages and Linguistics Department.
The language courses you can try are French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic. There will be two beginners’ level sessions for each language (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). Check out the schedule for the day below:

The language courses run weekly from 17 October during term time, with intensive courses also available during Easter and Summer breaks. You can join a course from 1 October.
