Our Career Mentoring programme is growing and is asking for your help. The programme is looking to recruit mentors from different backgrounds and industries to support our students on their career journey. If you could share specific career sector advice, employability tips, leadership skills or CV and application advice, the team would love to hear from you.
How does the Career Mentoring programme work?
Once you have applied, you will need to attend a one hour Mentor training session. After your training, the organisers will look to match you with a Mentee as soon as possible. The team will share contact details and you can set up your first meeting.
What is the time commitment of a Mentor?
- One hour training session on Microsoft Teams (various dates and times available between October – February).
- Four meetings with your Mentee, at least two of these meetings should be face-to-face or video calls.
- Mentoring relationships typically last one academic year. Some continue for longer if both parties would like to.
What are the benefits of being a Mentor?
Mentoring can be hugely inspiring and rewarding. You can gain experience in supporting and motivating others, whilst learning about yourself along the way. This 2021/22 Newsletter has quotes and feedback from current Mentors.
The team would love to have you on board for the 2022/23 programme. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the programme before applying, please get in touch via email. Visit the Career Mentoring Programme website for more information and to apply.
“The Mentee gains enormously in confidence and preparedness for professional life, whilst the Mentor has an enriching and rewarding experience. The satisfaction of knowing someone is doing really well in part due to your influence is second to none.”
