Carry Over Holiday requests this year

From 1 October 2022, staff will be able to use the Carry Over Holiday Request on the ServiceNow HR Portal to request to carry over of remaining holiday entitlement, if exceptional circumstances have prevented them from taking their leave within the holiday year. Requests will be sent to line managers for approval before being routed to the HR team to update the new holiday year’s entitlement in MyHR Dashboard.

Only in exceptional circumstances* and with the approval of your line manager, can you request to carry over unused leave to the new holiday year, The maximum has been increased to six days equivalent in hours (pro-rata if you are part time), to account for the additional Bank Holiday on 19 September.

Staff will be able to make Carry Over requests until 17:00 on Monday 31 October 2022.  Approved carry over holiday will be visible in 2022-2023 entitlements by January 2023 at the latest.

*More than six days equivalent in hours can be carried over where the employee has been on some form of family leave (e.g. maternity or adoption leave) or long term sick leave for the majority of the holiday year.
