Athena Swan Silver Award – advancing gender equality & inclusion: Summary of progress and next steps

We were delighted to have successfully renewed our Athena Swan Silver award earlier this year, recognising and celebrating the significant record of activity and achievement by the institution in promoting gender equality and in addressing challenges across different disciplines. We know more work is required and we’re encouraged by the positive progress we’ve made so far.

We all have our part to play in delivering the ambitious action plan and creating a truly inclusive environment. Sharing what we have learnt about gender equality and inclusion at the University with as many members of the community as possible is key to helping building awareness of the issues and contributing to solving them. Following the publication of our 2022 Athena Swan submission and action plan we have now created a high-level summary pack to share. The summary deck includes:

The Athena Swan Forum aims to promote discussion of gender-related issues in the University, through a mailing list and regular networking meetings in the University, and to share learning between teams participating in Athena Swan. Colleagues from all job families and faculties are encouraged to join.
