Invitation to take part in Solent mobility focus groups

Are you interested in contributing to research about transport and mobility in south Hampshire and the Isle of Wight? Do you live or work, or frequently travel into the Solent area? If yes, the Transportation Research Group would welcome your input to a series of online focus group forums run by the University of Southampton as part of the Department for Transport’s Solent Future Transport Zone project.

The Transportation Research Group is particularly interested in the barriers people face in using public transport of any sort, walking, cycling, and other active travel modes, and in combining these modes in a single journey, and how these barriers might differ (and/or be similar) depending on a person’s gender.

Participation in this ‘Solent mobility focus groups’ study would involve logging on to an online forum several times over the course of two weeks (at your convenience), responding to posts from the research team, and engaging with other forum members’ comments.

Participants will be reimbursed £10 for their time, and the Transportation Research Group welcomes participation from anyone at least 18 years old, with any mobility needs or constraints (all participation is online), living in rural, suburban, or urban areas, or anywhere in between.

If interested, please email Rich McIlroy at [email protected] for more information.

The ethics number for the study is 73638.
